The Geos Institute is a science-driven organization committed to meeting our ethical responsibility to limit the extent of climate change and help leaders create solutions that prepare human communities and natural systems for the impacts of climate change.
Our team of board and staff is made of dedicated, hard-working people who are personally committed to the Institute’s mission. We value honesty, courage, tact, perseverance, and respectful communication. When the pressure builds, we lean on each other. While we are professionally demanding, we also recognize the importance of trying new methods and welcome the learning that comes when something does not turn out as planned.
The atmosphere in the office is relaxed, but productive. We are generally flexible in terms of when and how work gets done and work hard to allow staff to strike a healthy balance between work and family. We have fun together and we get things done.
Our team is based in Ashland, Oregon, a beautiful community in the world-class temperate forests of southern Oregon just a few miles north of the California border and a three hour drive to the Pacific Ocean. Ashland boasts excellent public schools, a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, Southern Oregon University, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a nationally renowned repertory theater.
